Almost twenty years after the passing of his father, the legendary Fela Kuti, Afrobeat leader Seun Kuti honors his monumental legacy alongside Egypt 80, the Black President's historic large ensemble. Captured live in Paris during a magnificent 2016 tribute concert, this performance celebrates the universal message and driving rhythm of Afrobeat with an incredible lineup of global guest artists. Seun Kuti sets the stage on fire with an explosive opening rendition of the 1976 classic Kalakuta Show, before inviting the audience to follow him on a sonic journey straight from Paris to the heart of Lagos. The evening features brilliant collaborations with Franco-Cuban vocal duo Ibeyi, Malian keyboard maestro Cheick Tidiane Seck, American rapper Talib Kweli, and the legendary Tony Allen—the master architect of the Afrobeat drum rhythm himself—delivering a powerful, historic celebration of survival and musical revolution.
