A sparkling tale of magic and mischief, Coppélia has everything a ballet should: a touch of enchantment, a dash of romance and sumptuous costumes.

Marius Petipa’s exotic ballet, set in India, is a story of love, death and vengeful judgement. Yuri Grigorovich’s sumptuous recreation of Petipa’s choreography features breathtaking sets and costumes designed by Nikolay Sharonov as well as an all-star cast. Svetlana Zakharova is the mesmerising temple dancer (la bayadère) Nikiya; Vladislav Lantratov is the young warrior Solor in love with Nikiya but betrothed to Gamzatti; and Maria Alexandrova is Gamzatti whose alluring presence challenges Solor’s love for Nikiya. The Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra is conducted by Pavel Soroki
