Subscribe NowIn the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a group of young dancers find themselves exiled. They come together in The Netherlands, forming the United Ukrainian Ballet Company.
As the company dances to keep their culture alive, they welcome a wounded soldier into their midst who lost both his legs in the war. With freshly fitted prosthetics, the soldier discovers a newfound interest in the art of ballet, collaborating with his fellow Ukrainians on an original piece of choreography. Holding up a mirror to their lives, the soldier becomes a symbol for every brother, father, and friend they’ve left behind, igniting the dancers to channel their guilt and transform their grief.
Together, these artists strive to inform the world about the atrocities of the war and the resilience of the human spirit, taking the stage where the front row and the front line converge.
