Kitschy and confrontational, this dance short is a darkly playful take on the dynamics of seeing and being seen.

In “Cut,” all eyes (and cameras) are set on one flamenco dancer as she parts a silent crowd to unfurl an ardent solo of sharp percussive rhythms and dramatically luxuriant swirls. Hair wild and skirts flying, she sets her piercing gaze into the spotlight, through the cameras, and beyond her spectators to reveal an uncontainable passion. The analog qualities of Super 8, Super 16, 35mm and 65mm film lend saturated colors and textures to every shot.
