Sir András Schiff performs Beethoven’s beautiful Piano Concerto No.2 on a stunning model of a historic 1822 fortepiano. Although published as the second, Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat major was the first piano concerto that Beethoven completed. Written very much in the style of Mozart, Beethoven displays his pioneering virtuosic ability that would come to define his music. Filmed in black and white, this concert is a beautiful showcase of craftsmanship and musicality. Schiff sits at a period-accurate recreation of a historic 1822 fortepiano crafted by Conrad Graf. He is joined by The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment for a captivating, historically informed, performance.
